Our new total-so-far for July is 144 blocks–a nice round number since it makes 4 sets of 48 blocks.

Misha (mishamichele7) joined the lotto this month and made these three blocks.

Aren't they terrific?

(Misha, don't forget to email me with your info, so they can be officially entered in the drawing).

Mary Jane's First post (and Blocks)

Okay. My first attempt at a blog. Here are my eight blocks for July. With all the patterns out there, it was difficult to decide what patterns to attempt. I sure hope this works.

Tami's July Lotto Blocks

Gosh! I'm so excited! This is my first contribution to the lotto. It has been so fun to make these and so inspiring to see everyone else's FABULOUS blocks. My hope is that this becomes the first of a long, long list of contributions!

Blocks from Ellen and Wilma

While I've been sleeping (or so it seems), the forum members have been making incredible blocks for the block lotto this month. Here are eight blocks from Wilma (WilmaNC).

And eight (plus eight extras) from Ellen (Kellen 46).

There are more blocks (and photos on the way), but the official total so far this month is now 119 blocks.

CathySews July Blocks

Here are my 8 blocks for July. Since I'm new to quilting and don't have favorite blocks just yet I decided to do a variety. Some paper pieced and some machine pieced and a couple of familiar blocks :o)

Sylvia's Blocks

Sylvia (imjin53) emailed this photo to me on Friday. I love her selection of blocks.

(Sorry for the delay in getting it posted.)

I hope this is going into the correct posting place. I want to thank the people sending me cute little basket blocks. Thanks to Colene and Little Deb. If you have any ideas on how I can set them up, send me them. I love all the bright colors, but am wondering how they will look best all together. Thanks, Sharon

Michelle's Blocks

I just signed up to be an author on this blog. Sophie already posted the pics of my blocks, which I did the day after the sneek peek was sent out. In the future I will post my pictures here...

(edited to add Michelle's blocks on their own . . . because I liked them so much - sophie)

July Blocks

OK,here I go with my first blog submission. YIKES! Let's see what happens when I play with the buttons.
Here are my blocks, but first you have to read why I chose these particular blocks. I am an avid reader and have lately been following the exploits of Bennie Harper as written by Earlene Fowler. She has inspired me to pay attention to block patterns. Now Sophie has us choosing blocks. I ended up buying a book with 200 block patterns in 6 sizes. That should keep me busy for at least a year. So, between Earlene Fowler and Sophie egging me on, I have come up with two blocks in the Fool's Puzzle pattern (1st book in the Bennie Harper series), two in the Irish Chain (2nd book) and 4 blocks in the 4 patch variation. I found the 4 patch pattern on my own and really like how it turned out, especially when you reverse the fabrics. Sophie, I think you should use that pattern for the lotto someday. Also, to explain my avatar: that is lil' ole me and the mighty Pacific Ocean. I have an embroidered piece in my sewing room that says " Please God help me,the sea is so wide and my boat is so small.." This photo makes that clear.

Debbie in Fla July Blocks

Here are my July blocks. I had the leftover star points from another quilt. And I have the 'Easy Angle' ruler that makes HST so easy to make.

Terri's July Blocks

I decided to make a couple more blocks for this month's lotto. They are the 2 blocks in the bottom row.

Sharon's Blocks

I love all these different scrappy looking squares. Fun to make and fun to look at everyone else's. Thought I'd post mine and learn how to do this. Hopefully it will get quicker once I learn what I'm doing.

Little Deb's July Blocks

Whoo Hoo, never thought I could do this!! Thanks Sophie & company for all the help. Here are my blocks for Quilters Choice. These are all from Nancy Johnson Srebro's Block Magic books. My camera abilities are lacking, they are so cute in person.
