Lou has been a member of the Quilting Forum for a while and is one of the Swap Hostesses on the forum, but this month, she's a NEWBIE as she enters the block lotto for the first time with these nine bow tie blocks.
I got my new machine and tested it out sewing 9 blocks for the lotto. The middle one might be pushing the definition of plaid a little....The new machine works great, and the 1/4" seam is right where it should be...no adjustments or learning curve.
At last - nine bow ties (I promise the top left purple really is a plaid, even if it doesn't look it from the photo). These were quick blocks to make - the delay for me was in having no plaids in my stash!
These were posted on the forum, but not on the blog . . . remember anyone can sign up to be an author on our group blog and share their block photos directly. I will try to capture everyone's photos . . . but sometimes life–or the lack of a good internet connection–gets in my way.
From Kathie (kplaposta) - a newbie :-)
From Caroline (quiltermomma1):
From Gail (lvgg):
From Barbara (zizzybob):
And five of these from Kris (abxkris):
I can't believe how many different plaids we've seen so far.
I've made 10 more - I'm just having so much fun making them. You can make a few in a very few minutes. It's almost .......trance-like!
Attached here and in the forum for January, I've posted 3 different views of the same 10 blocks. It was amazing to see how different these can look. This will be a beautiful quilt for whoever wins.......
Thanks Sophie for picking such an easy block this month, with a 12" block option!
