The Deadline is NOON Tomorrow
The deadline for entering blocks is 12:00 Noon (Eastern time) June 30.
I have a meeting tomorrow morning and won't be back until a little later to check for last minute entries before I finalize the list for the drawing and email it to Jill, one of our winners from last month who will be choosing our winners for June.

Marie's 9th Block
Six More.
Welcome Marie
Marie has joined the block lotto and made these eight blocks . . . she has one more in progress.

Welcome Marie! We're glad you found us and decided to play.
Marie's blocks and Rho's bring our total-so-far this month to 122 blocks. We're 10 blocks away from enough for a third winner . . . anyone else thinking of making any last minute blocks besides me?

6 more blocks for the June lotto
I have finally managed to finish an extra 6 blocks for this month lotto. I have made 3 Friendship Stars and 3 Shoo Fly blocks in addition to the 3 Churn Dash that I had posted about before I went away on holiday in Spain with my family (first holiday for my 4-month old daughter!) Patterns for the Friendship Stars and the Churn Dash have been adapted from the quilterscache website from Marcia Hohn's free patterns. Here are my 6 new blocks:

Kate's blocks for June
The (overdue) Sneak Peek has been MAILED
I'm sorry for the delay everyone.
If your name is on the list in the right side bar, you should have received sneak peek email from me this morning. If not, please let me know ASAP.
If you have entered blocks this month and your name hasn't been added to the list, also please let me know ASAP.
Thanks and also thanks for understanding while I struggle with my current dose of LIFE. I hope all the sneak peekers think the wait was worth it. I'm really excited about July block . . . tease, tease, tease ;-)
. . . speaking of delays, last month's winners should also have received email from me because I discovered last night that the stamped envelopes with their blocks were sitting on the table next to my door (oops.) They will be going out with me, the next time I venture out into the heat and bad air we are currently "enjoying" in Dallas.

3 blocks done
Hi all,

I have completed 3 blocks so far for this month lotto. I have done Churn dash blocks. Patterns were adapted from the quilterscache website from Marcia Hohn's free patterns. I had some left-over 30s fabrics from a Spring Fling swap I did on the Dear Jane list a couple of years ago.
Hopefully I will be able to post more blocks soon.

Mary Jane's June Blocks
Kathie's 30's Sampler
Grandmother's Flower Garden was one of my choices since it is done in 30's fabric so frequently. I liked the Thrifty block of a few months ago, and it seems well suited to these fabrics also. My third choice was just something that worked well with small strips. The colors look a little washed out in the photo - they are really quite cheerful!

Dancing as Fast as I Can
I'll be mailing my cactus pot blocks today . . . and since our winners might be wondering what they look like, I finally took photos of them and can share those, too.
My apologies to the winners (and everyone) for my tardiness in both posting these photos and mailing the blocks. As I posted the other day on my own dusty, rarely updated-these-days blog, sophie junction, looking for work has become more time (and energy) consuming than any job I've every held and lately I often feel like I'm dancing as fast as I can ;-)

The three butterfly blocks on the top row in the June block announcement post below are mine. My four May blocks are ready to go to the mailbox tomorrow to Kathy.
Quilter's Choice in 30's Repro's for June
In June, we are going to be repeating last year’s very popular QUILTER’s CHOICE event. The lotto block will be your choice(s) of 6 inch (finished size) block in 30’s reproductions on white-on-white (WOW) backgrounds.
There are some GUIDELINES for your choice and they are a little complicated, so please read the rest of this message CAREFULLY.
First, for the fabrics, If you are unclear about what 30’s reproduction fabrics look like, check out this pool of photos on Flickr:
http://www.flickr.com/groups/30sfabrics/
Note: If you do not have 30’s repros in your stash and do not want to add 30’s repros to your stash, but have fabrics that you believe will blend with these fabrics, feel free to use them–look for some example of no-30's fabrics that work pretty well.
For the blocks themselves:

For the blocks themselves:
- When choosing block patterns, please keep in mind that our overall theme for the year is traditional block patterns. Our winners next month should end up with a nice stack of traditional looking blocks for a nice 30’s sampler quilt.
- Pieced blocks must consist of at least 7 pieces. So, you cannot make a 4-patch or a snowball block, for example, but you can make a framed 4-patch, or a block made from 4 snowball blocks.
- Appliqué blocks may have fewer pieces. All edges must be turned under.
- You can make the same block pattern for up to three blocks, for example, three stamp basket blocks, three house blocks, three framed pinwheel blocks for the usual maximum of 9 blocks.
- The usual rules of NOT making identical blocks (same fabrics) apply. If you repeat fabrics, be sure to do it in a way so you don’t end up with matching blocks. We want the winner(s) to be able to make great scrappy album style 30’s repro quilts. Pleasee mix it up in your blocks and keep them nice and scrappy,
