Poll Results - Quilting in December
Here's the results of our poll. What's your December quilting project?
Personally, I realized that I've done a little bit of "all of the above" ... and not as much as Block Lotto blog projects as expected–since most of you consistently remind me, if it ain't broke, I don't need to fix it, I'm not feeling too bad about my lack of productivity ... but I DO need to get busy and make some January sample blocks, so that after the holidays, I'll be ready for Block Lotto 2012.

October Colorway Poll Results
Here's how you voted:
More than 1/3 of those who voted chose Blue & White and/or Blue - Cream - Tan - Brown so . . . if you want to start thinking about fabrics for October, look for:
BLUE - solid or TOT print that is any shade of BLUE
CREAM - solid or TOT CREAM print
Your October blocks must be made from Blue and Cream fabrics, but may also OPTIONALLY include these fabrics:
TAN and BROWN - solid or TOT prints that are any shade of TAN or BROWN

Help Choose the Colorway for October
I've just posted a poll in the right sidebar, asking for your opinion about possible color-combinations for October. You may choose as many from the list as you like . . . or choose the none of the above option and post your suggestion as a comment on this post.
In case your reaction to the list is "what was she thinking" ... here's what:
Two color block choices are ALWAYS popular and while we have included blue in some block choices this year, we haven't made any pure blue blocks.
It's a popular colorway that has been requested in the past. It's a little close to our African Violets, but still worth considering.
We haven't done anything with Tans and Browns for a while. This colorway always makes me think of the sand and sky and sea.
I don't know that we have EVER made completely neutral lotto blocks. Maybe it's time. (Or maybe I've just been thinking of some neutral swap blocks I have that I'm ready to turn into a quilt :-)
The chocolate- raspberry inspired colorway that we used a few years ago (for framed pinwheels) was so popular, it might be time to revisit. (The link leads to the blocks I made)
Most of this year's blocks have been on the color-saturated side–perhaps we should accept it as the theme for this year and continue the pattern.
It will soon be Fall in the northern hemisphere, so maybe a colorway that suggests Autumn makes sense?
You can probably tell that as I was making this list, one idea led to another ... and perhaps, if none of these appeal, they sparked an idea for you--please share your "thinking" in the comments.
Edited to add: In case you're new or are making a mental list of what we've already made this year, I've updated the 2011 lotto block index. It has the list of blocks we made this year, with links to all the photos (if you tagged your post correctly) and the block directions.
One more PS. In case you're wondering I cannot see who voted for what, so if you're reaction is UGH, don't be afraid vote that I'll know who voted that way.

Help Choose the Colorway for June
I just added a poll to the right sidebar asking for your vote for a colorway for June. If you're reading this via a feed reader, please click over and let me know what you think?
Analogous color themes always seem to work well for the lotto. Analogous colors are those that are next to one another on the color wheel. I started pulling fabrics to make some sample blocks today and then changed my mind and then . . . I decided to ask all of you (participants and followers) what do you think? If you don't like any of my choices, please suggest a three-color combination in the comments.
Unfortunately because the sneak peek is sneaking up on us quickly, the poll will only be available for a day and a half. Unless I have an interview, I'll still have a chance to make a few blocks before I send out the sneak peek email on Tuesday.
The block will be making is quick and easy (because June is such a busy month for most of us) and is pretty gender and age neutral. If anyone would be interested in collected extra blocks for a charity quilt let me know.
UPDATE:
Here are the results of our quickie poll:

Results of Last Month's Poll about the 2011 Block Lotto
I asked what kind of lotto blocks we should make in 2011. 58 people voted--thank you--and here's the result.
More than half wanted a mix of styles and techniques, but every category had some significant followers.
For those of you who voted "best of lotto" . . . please leave a comment and tell me which lotto blocks you'd like to see repeated and if you'd like to give them a new twist (different colors, different size, or different in some other way), let us know. With a little effort, I can figure out which are the blocks with the highest numbers . . . but I'm thinking those aren't necessarily the same ones that some people would like another chances to win.
Actually, no matter HOW you voted or even if you DIDN'T vote in the poll, if you have a block you think I should consider for next near, or a colorway that we've skipped (or that you'd like to repeat) feel free to leave a comment and tell me about it.

Don't Forget to VOTE
No, I'm not talking about the Presidental election, though I encourage all the Americans to do that, too ;-)
I mean don't forget to vote in the poll asking what size blocks we should make next year which is in the side bar under the countdown ticker.
The poll will be active through the month of September. I'm enjoying the 6 inch blocks we've been making this year . . . but maybe you're not enjoying them as much? Be sure to let me know what you think.
Feel free to add a comment if you have a great idea for me for next year . . .
