I've blogged some step by step photos of my favorite way to make this block here, Jeweled Geese Block. I plan to add two other ways of making the block to that tutorial, but I confess that I'm running out of steam tonight . . . look for them in the next day or two.
I've decided to use some of my favorite, no-longer available fabrics for my blocks . . . I've cut into some special Alex Anderson yellow, Pat Cambell red and the purple hand-dye in the step-by-step photo–remembering after the fact that purple rarely photographs well. I thought the variations in color had a gemstone quality . . . or maybe something like a geode, split open.
