Interesting technique.  I love the look of these blocks.  They'll make a great quilt.  I've got one made so far for November.  As much as I love this one, I don't know if I'll find the time to make my other chances.  Maybe...we'll see...it is a very busy season.

  2. I love your sunny block. This technique can be used to construct a traditional trip around the world quilt as well as in bargello quilts. I think it's a good one to have in our quilter's bag of tricks.

  3. I am so glad that you posted that comment. I guess I would have figured it out eventually, but I am glad that you mentioned making the traditional trip aroung the world. (Scrappy or non scrappy)and bargelli, I looked at Lizzybob's layout and then read your comment, and THEN IT CLICKED!! I'll have to investigate the bargello layout using this method. Years ago I made a trip around the world, and now I just think, how much easier that quilt would have been, had I known what I know.... this month. Thanks for bringing new twist to tradional settings and modern blocks too!
