I will sit down and read all the cards and notes after I post this (and I promise better photos soon, too), but I had to let you know that your wonderful gift arrived.
I had no idea what could be waiting for me at the post office. The clerk suggested I had a "secret admirer". If ONLY he knew what was inside the box.
The cats are VERY excited about the new quilt, too. Johnny was ready to jump in the box with it before it was unpacked and here they are checking out the other side. For some reason, there was one spot they both found VERY interesting ;-)
Soon afterward, they were playing some kind of kitty version of "king of the mountain" and fighting over it.
NO ONE has ever made a quilt for me. I can't tell you how much it means. With my chemical sensitivity issues flaring up and losing my job, it has been a tough holiday for me. You ALL have created a beautiful, happy ending to 2011 for me. Thank you.
YIPPEE! Well, we have all just been on pins and needles w-a-i-t-i-n-g for like seemed FOREVER for you to get it! Glad you (and kitties)like it!!!!!
ReplyDeleteso glad it has arrived safely - it looks wonderful on your bed :-)
ReplyDeleteWow - so glad you love it. It has been a pleasure contributing to this wonderful project. Your cats seem intent on the edge of my block- not sure what they could find so interesting there. Thank you for all you do for us. Hope your allergies settle down and there is soon a new job for you.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear you have the quilt. I hope you "feel the love" that was put into making it .... just for you!
ReplyDeleteYAY!!! I can stop checking umpteen times a day! haha!!! Glad it arrived safely and put a smile on your face!!! (as your blocks and posts have often done for my face! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great collection of blocks and memories! WTG!!
ReplyDeleteI definitely "feel the love" and after reading the cards and notes that some of you included, I also feel incredibly appreciated and a little humbled. You all are amazing.
ReplyDeleteYAY! So glad you went to pick it up from the post office! I've been checking the blog a few times a day hoping you'd have gotten it. I hate going to the post office, and sometimes put it off so long that packages get returned to the sender. So glad you got the quilt!
ReplyDeleteAnd glad you a smiling!
It was a lot of fun working on this because you deserve it! The tin man has his arms open for a hug for you...
ReplyDeleteI don't check my mailbox at the apartment complex every day, but luckily did check today and found the notice the mailman left yesterday. I think the mailman might have tried to deliver it when I was at an interview yesterday--a second interview at this company ... I am hopeful!
ReplyDeleteOh, Sophie, we all appreciate what you do, and the pleasure that I've received participating in Block Lotto, I wanted to send back the love to you. It was a joy to see you have received it today, YippEE!
ReplyDeleteI'll be praying for the right job to open up for you, my dear ~
happy hugs, pokey
I have been on pins and needles, waiting, and checking the blog constantly! There had to be an up swing in the stat numbers with all the checking in! Glad you love it. Thank you for block lotto!
ReplyDeleteSophie, so glad so see that it has all come together and ended up on your bed. Please have only sweet dreams under it. Best wishes for 2012 and another Block Lotto year. Kathie L in Allentown
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like the quilt. And I'm glad I could be a part of it, when the idea was proposed, I didn't give it a second thought. I have tried many different blocks that I would not have, had it not been for the Block Lotto! Thanks for all you do for us.
ReplyDeleteYou deserve it, Sophie! Sorry I didn't get a chance to write a note with my block. You ARE appreciated!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you like it. I was in such a hurry to post the block from Australia that I didn't think to put a card inside.
ReplyDeleteEveryone's message and generosity was perfectly clear whether or not they included a note with their block . That said, quilters seem to make/choose the most beautiful cards. These may replace the Christmas cards on my mantle.
ReplyDeleteI'm thrilled you finally got it!!! I don't know how much you know of the origin of the quilt. It was Laura's (ellison01) idea. She made a little blog site for us and kept us all in line. She pieced the final top and mailed it off to Cathy (boo radley)to do the quilting. They did an incredible job. It was an awesome idea and I'm so glad you love it!
ReplyDeleteWow. You all seem far more organized than I, and so quick! I am in awe.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you liked it. Thank you so much to Laura and to Cathy who did all the behind the scenes work (I don't know how they managed it in such a short time) didn't they do a fab job. Wishing you, them, and everyone else, all the very best for 2012
ReplyDeleteSophie, we never see ourselves as others do and most certainly do not realize the impact we have on others. You have blessed many more than the hands that made and prayed over this one.
ReplyDeleteBlessings for a wonderful new year!
Blondie
SO glad it made it to you! We were all on the edge of our seats waiting :) I feel like it is so fitting that blocks from all over the world and from your inpiration of previous lotto blocks have come into this one quilt so that you have a tangible show of our gratitude and appreciation of you. Good luck on the job! Fingers crossed for you :)
ReplyDeleteSophie, we'll never be as organized as you. We were so excited to continue the lotto this month even if you didn't know! I hope this brings a lot of luck for you in the job search. Happiest New Year to you and may it be very prosperous!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you like it. I was a nervous nelly making that block, which was my own personal challenge. You have done so much for us with Block Lotto...thank you... we appreciate you, more than you know.

So happy to see that the quilt arived safely, Sophie! BL has been such a great group to be part of... thanks for going "above and beyond" for us. Good thoughts and bright hopes for 2012.
ReplyDeleteThat's really a special quilt. Looks like the "inspectors" give it paws up. Very pretty quilt. Each block unique--wow.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't in on the secret plan - but send good wishes. A great idea to make the quilt for Sophie. June
ReplyDeleteSophie, your new quilt looks amazing and the cats certainly seem to approve. You have given us so much guidance and encouragement. It felt amazing to be a part of your "Christmas-Hope you're feeling better" quilt. My block even made it before the deadline - an amazing feat from my pasr of Nova Scotia. Many sweet and pleasant dreams beneath its warmth.
