A full set of Blossoms

Here are my nine blocks for May. I really like the looks of this block. I'm including a picture of a quilt I had made 5 yrs ago when my youngest turned 15 and we had a bedroom redo for her...I did hers with brights on black using 2.5" strips instead of the 2"strips we used for our lotto blocks. The color isn't great, but you get the idea. I'm not too fond of black quilts for myself, so am ever so happy to have the white background for these. I so want to win this month!

Mailed!

My blocks are on their way to Coralie in Canada. The post office said they should be there within a week.
I'm sitting out May- too many outdoor things to do and other commitments- but hopefully I'll be back to make whatever June's block turns out to be! Happy Mother's Day to all the moms in the Block Lotto!!!

Lotto blox arriving

Today, I received lotto blocks from:  Kathy S, Mary Jane,  Julie, Toni, and Michelle.  That was a total of 18 plus my own for this picture:

Thank you so much!  I'm not sure yet how I will put my 36 together, but I'm sure I'll come up with something nifty.

Pineapple Blossom Blocks

Here are my 9 blocks for this month.

Some block lotto musings...

Some of you might be interested in my rather long-winded post on my blog today about all the blocks I've won in the Block Lotto in the 5 years I've been playing - having won two months running, I was interested to go back and see what my luck has been like through the years, and more to the point, just what happened to the blocks I won... My verdict? Definitely worth playing the lotto - a conclusion I had already come to, but it's nice to look back and see the material (ha ha) benefits of playing. There are, of course, lots of less tangible reasons I play - the chance to try new blocks, styles, colour combos or techniques; the opportunity to make a few blocks here and there with no guilt about them sitting around unused; the chance to use up scraps (not so as you'd usually notice...); and of course, the social aspect!

A little slow mailing...

Sorry to the ladies I am mailing blocks to - haven't quite managed to get them in the post yet - hopefully tomorrow - it's been a kind of busy week, culminating yesterday with having to sleepover at school with 36, 7 &8 year olds (the Year 3 sleepover - I am a teaching assistant in that year) - it went well, but I was too tired to want to package things up and go to the post office today (school was closed today because it's a polling day - though the staff still had to work for at least part of the day). Got a second wind now, but the post office isn't open at 10.30pm!

Modern Clover blooming!

The first of my modern clover squares have arrived safely in Missouri.  Thank you so much Barbara and Cheri.  I love them.  This is going to make a beautiful garden.

May Pineapple Blossom Blocks (9) from Kathy S

Here are nine pineapple blocks for the Block Lotto in May.

Pineapple Blossoms

I thought I wouldn't like the gold and gray combination , but the blocks everyone has made are looking great! I hope I find some time this month, but things are getting crazy busy around here.

Clovers in the mail

Mailed clovers yesterday: 3 to Laura in GA, 3 to Maree in New Zealand, 4 to Susan in TN, and 4 to Wilma in NC.  Looking forward to pictures of everyone's projects.  I really like this block, another I probably wouldn't have tackled w/o Block Lotto inspiration.  Thanks,  Liz

CLOVER FLY

My clovers flew today to England, Canada, and one set staying in the USA. Make something pretty, and be sure the share pictures with us.

Clover Blocks Mailed to Janet

Two blocks were mailed yesterday to Janet from LPB in NC.  Have fun with them.  I loved my purple and green combo so much that I wanted some for myself.  Alas my stash was empty of those particular scraps!  Make a beautiful quilt and show us your pictures.  Blessings!

Clovers on the way from San Diego!

The blocks for Kate were mailed today!  Know you will have fun opening all the envelopes!

I am enjoying this block. I can see myself doing a full size quilt with it. Fun!
