Love these Liberated Asterisks, fireworks, whatever you call them! I finally got some time to make my July blocks, but they ended up TOO liberated, as I failed to read directions carefully. Mine are 6.5" instead of the required 8.5", so I guess I just made myself a few pretty fireworks. Well, here's the picture of the blocks I will nolt be sending to anyone! Put me down for zero for July (unfortunately).

ReplyDeleteJust add some background strips to two adjacent sides of each block to make them large enough, trim to 8.5 inches square and they'll be fine. REALLY.
I agree with Sophie. Not every fireworks explosion is the same size! Those little ones are cute too.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter came home from uni (last week) and wanted to make a quilt in a week i showed her this block and she made the quilt with blocks ranging in size fom 15" square to 6" square. It was very effective.
