Some (very) old Lotto Blocks

I pulled out this old project and made some progress last night. All the blocks were made from the 10-inch blocks patterns on Marcia Hohn's Quilter's Cache site.  Almost all of them were Lotto Block choices during 2005 and 2006. I recently finished up the scrappy green and cream alternate blocks as part of the rainbow scraps challenge.

There are some in-progress photos (including my kitty helpers) on my Sophie Junction blog.

Do you notice how many of those blocks have half-square-triangle units in them–at least 13 of the 17 sampler blocks?  If you're having trouble with the triangles this month, think about ALL the quilt blocks you can make after you're conquered them.

I'm thinking a couple simple borders and quilting it all-over with Baptist Fans.  What do you think?

  1. I'm a big fan of 9-patches, so I really like your setting blocks. The combination of them with the 4-patches is very nice. Kathie L in Allentown

  2. Wow, this one IS a bit old - these blocks are from the year I joined the lotto - I didn't do all of these, think I came in around April or May... I actually won some of the Scottie Dog blocks - they are in a finished top, though I haven't quilted it yet, lol.

  3. The setting blocks (made from 9-patches, 4-patches and some cream rectangles) are also from Quilter's Cache. Marcia's pattern for the block is called Single Chain and Knot.
