FLOOD EVACUATION ~ Round 3

I really was hoping to get to play this month! I missed last month too. We were told today, we are now included in the madatory evacuation. This is the third time in the last month or month and a half. I am getting so tired of this. I have NEVER seen this much water. We live on the west edge of Burlington, ND. My husband says our place should be OK. Minot WILL lose the battle, the water will go over the dikes. They are about 10 miles east of us. we both work there. there will be one east~west and two or three north ~south thorough fares.
At least I have a couple quilts that need bindings put on them to work on.

OK~ I'll quit venting! Others have it way worse than us~ I'm just tired of it!

  1. I'm sure you're more than tired of it, but, as the saying goes, better safe than sorry. You will be in my thought and prayers. Take care.

  2. We live in No. Central Florida (we are roughly equally distant from both coasts & the Georgia border) are a frequent evacuation point for just about every hurricane that come thru So. Florida. Almost every year there are a handful of "extra" horses in our paddocks while their people figure out what they are going to do. I have never been thru an evacuation of my own but I have seen enough from the sidelines to know how miserable it is, even when you are almost absolutely pretty sure your home will be there, as you left it. I hope you get to go home soon.

  3. So sorry to hear this Caroline...I grew up in ND and it is so hard to imagine the widespread flooding that has occured this year. I'll be thinking of you as I follow along the news.

  4. Oh Caroline, I'm so sorry. How terribly stressful. I just really can't imagine how awful that must be. Take care and keep us posted. We'll be keeping you and your area in prayer.
