Please let me know if the center block isn't bright enough....I got a 1/2 yard of bright lizards on black in a bolt-end grab bag. (It was a great deal, about 9 yards of quilting cotton for $17) What would you do with bright lizards on black??? I thought if I cut it thin enough the lizard-ness might not be so obvious.
I followed Sophie's directions until I ran out of 10" squares of WOW fabric. I found a way to do it scrappy, and posted my version on my blog.

I like your "one cut at a time" idea. That's a great tip.
ReplyDeleteI also like your scrappy block with four different strips. For the lotto, especially this year, I think people will see ways to make a more liberated block and others might decide they'd like LESS variability in their blocks. I'm aiming at that middle ground . . . so we'll have free-style blocks that still play well together. But I'm also hoping that some will take the block ideas/patterns and run with them and make them their own, like Dianah and you have, and be inspired to make quilts of their own.
I've added your blocks to the list. Our new total is 123 blocks. We're already closing in on the number of blocks needed for three winners and it's still the first week in January.
