It's almost a done UFO! I put on the coral colored side and corner triangles today and it's aprox. 60" x 80". I just can't decide if I'll make it bigger. But I'm happy with the results so far - -

I usually send my quilts to my "trusty" LongArmer and tell her to do her worst! That is to say - - her "best" ................ and she always does. This time..... I'll ask her to use one of her "circley" designs and will request a multicolor thread. The backing is a bold, loose, stripe, of a orangey,bluey,teal,red-pinkish - batik, that'll be just PERFECT - I think for the scrapiness of this project!
Oh that is a wonderful quilt! Very well done Rho. I have yet to set anything on point....I'm figuring there must be charts onlline on how to figure the size of the side/cornor triangles? One of these days....I'll take the plunge!
free indeed, thanx for your kind words. I use a cool tool called the "flip flop" ruler to make "perfect" side triangles. For the corner triangles, take a square (same size that you're using in your quilt - cut it in half and that's your corner). The Flip Flop ruler is sold at JoAnns Fabric, and if you use your 40% or 50% coupons, it'll be much less expensive. I'm sure that other stores also carry it, and certainly it's online as well! the Flip Flop ruler is also extremely useful for squaring up your square of retangular shaped finished quilts (pre binding stage). It makes the job 1-2-3 -easy, peasy and perfect!
Rho, it looks GREAT!
ReplyDeleteI wish I'd joined in time to do these dots. I might do some anyway...
