African Violet crib quilt

Hi everyone,  here are a couple pictures of a crib quilt I've made from this month's pattern.  I was thinking of adding a border of white or black to the quilt, but now I'm leaning toward no additional border and just binding the quilt in black.

Any thought or suggestions?  Without the extra border the quilt measures approx 34" x 44".

  2. Awesome quilt! I love that by turning the two pieces together in the block, makes the flower look more like a pansy. Pansies were my Grandma's favorite flower, and I have wanted to make a pansy quilt for many, many years, in her memory. You have just added another project to my list ( and it will not be added to the bottom of the list). Thank you!

  3. I regret now not working on this block! Maybe I will put this one on my bucket list. I love to use black on everything, so why not? Depending on if you feel like going a bit larger, you could always put a small frame of yellow or pinkish hue around to separate the blacks and give some extra definition. JMHO, I love playing with color. Love your pansies.

  4. I'd just go with the black binding. Your choice of black and white leaf print for the sashing is just perfect. Kathie L in Allentown

  5. I think for a crib quilt I might just simply bind it in black, though I do like some of the other ideas suggested! It looks really nice - I love how this block (and so many others from the lotto) inspire us for other projects...

  6. How about a compromise and add a black binding with a gold (or another color) piping? If you haven't tried this technique before, there are a few approaches (include a pretty clever FAUX piping that's created by piecing the binding from skinny strips from each color) ... and a small baby quilt or wall-hanging has a whole lot less binding (and piping) to sew.
